I take a couple in my jersey for every bike race. It's good but nothing special. Ramis, but it's going to be a long wait. We visited a health store for about two hours one day to compare the ingredients on this bar versus all the others. For those who are not familiar with it, Hotlips is a Portland, Oregon based chain of pizza shops that also make their own soda.
The Nutz Over Chocolate flavor used to have peanuts in the bar, now it's just soy crisps over waxy palm kernel oil. The new formula has fewer vitamins and minerals: Literally nothing improved about these bars except the sugar gram count, but even so, as soft and unsubstantial as they are they taste even more sugary.
Yuck, will not be buying any more unless they move back to the old formula. By Bioengineered Nutrition Research Group. Can't even tell it's a protein bar I started eating low carb about half a year ago, and these bars are 1 out of 2 brands of protein bars I've found to be acceptable for my diet. Like almost every other reviewer has stated, you can barely tell these things are protein bars.
They honestly taste great, I've tried almost every flavor and find all of them quite tasty. If you were to give an unwrapped bar to someone, I'm sure they wouldn't even know that it is a protein bar. These are my favorite protein bars and this flavor is by far my These are my favorite protein bars and this flavor is by far my favorite.
The price isn't beatable I have looked everywhere! They literally taste identical to Thin Mints — across the board from consistency and delicate crunch to explode-off-the-tongue refreshing mint chocolate taste — without any of the degenerative bad fats, artificial sludge, or fat-inducing sugar.
Power Crunch made a cameo at 7 in our protein bar power rankings, BUT that excludes taste. High quality, well balanced, easy to digest, low sugar and it tastes great!
All the flavors are great, but my favorite is the peanut butter chocolate. Will not upset even the most sensitive stomachs if consumed in the middle of intense activity. These use a protein isolate, which is superior to concentrate. They use a good type of isolate, at that. Reasonable sugar levels and no substitutes or additives. You need a little sugar, and these have just enough. Nothing fishy in there.
Good, high quality stuff and very well balanced for an energy bar. No unnecessary micro-nutrient supplementation! The ingredients say organic brown rice syrup, organic soy flour, organic rolled and toasted oats, organic cane syrup, organic peanut butter, and more.
I have to trust that they're not lying, so I believe I am eating a fairly healthy version of an energy bar. There are calories 60 from fat per bar. Many "health" bars I've tried are typically dry, chalky, and that probably has something to do with high protein maybe? I guess it depends on which one you're trying.
I've tried a lot. Clif bars taste better than they look. They are moist and chewy, not tough chewy. While these are intended to be "energy bars" rather than meal replacements, they have worked great for me. Less than calories, but they hold me. My wife thinks I'm nuts, but all I can say is one for breakfast, one for lunch, and I'm good until dinner. I've had other brands in the past that my jaw would get tired chewing - not so with Cliff Bars.
There may be one out there, but so far these are great. As far as the Crunchy Peanut Butter ones go - these are one of my favorites!
I love peanut butter and this have a great flavor. If you don't really, really like peanut butter, these ones may be a bit much for you though. One of my favorites It's hard to review a food, since everyone has different tastes. Hopefully this will help other shoppers: The flavors of Clif bar I like: Peanut butter crunch Oatmeal raisin walnut Pomegranate chia Sierra trail mix Just okay clif bars in my opinion: Chocolate brownie If you have similar taste buds to me, I definitely say to try this flavor.
It's one of my favorites! Perfect for a quick meal on the go I have been purchasing Clif Energy Bars for numerous years and Chocolate Chip is hands-down my favorite flavor.
The abundance of chocolate chunks rolled into this bar give each bite a decadent and satisfying sweetness. Best thing about Clif Bars: I used to take one to work with me everyday to eat during my short break in between my two jobs.
The consistency and texture of these bars were perfect for my grueling 12 hour work days because I could put one in my bag during my shift and it would still be intact and edible after, regardless of if my bag got moved about, thrown around, stepped on, or squished. Cheapest option for cliff bars I love these bars, but they sometimes can be a bit pricey. I get these for when I need a quick breakfast because I don't have the time to make anything.
These fill me up better than anything else and they taste great! Amazon usually has the best prices, especially if you eat them enough and want to do subscribe and save. The product came to me undamaged and fresh aka it wasn't expired or stale. I also like how this product is Prime and does not need to be bought via Prime Pantry. I would recommended getting this product! With a humiture rating constantly exceeding degrees most of the year, dehydration and sun stroke are persistent companions.
It's important to drink as much water as possible but also to get extra nutrients from something like Gatorade or Powerade. If you've ever suffered from heat stroke you don't want to go through that again. It's the first bar that Clif ever made and I prefer its taste to the others.
Sometimes though the Blueberry bar is either priced unreasonably or it is simply hard to find. In that case I have no problem getting Chocolate Chip. Definitely appealing to kids, at least my son loves all the flavors.
These are quite sweet and basically a fortified cookie. I love the size as they aren't so huge if you are watching your weight and make for a good mid morning or afternoon pick me up.
We keep them in the house all the time. Also, my son has dairy and nut allergy and has had no issues with these bars so I'm pleased to find a good snack he can enjoy. Yummy My kids love these. I have one child that is an extremely picky eater but she loves zbars. I usually buy them at Sam's club because they are cheaper there but they were our of them for awhile. We love these bars We love these bars!!! It is very hard to find healthy snack alternatives for children on the go that they actually like!
After purchasing many different types all three of our kids absolutely love these. The reason for the four stars - price!
Other than that, product review only, these are great. They are not super sweet and both my children daughter 12 and son This bars are by far the most delicious energy bar i ever had.
They are not super sweet and both my children daughter 12 and son 11 swim competitive and it helps them fell better before and after practice. I highly recommend this product. Negative- I order 2 boxes of these bars thinking i would receive the one shown in the picture for bars with only 4g of sugar and net wright per bar as 1. I prefer for my kids the smaller size but they are both the same as good! Best vegan snack bar around My go-to snack during busy days as a professional. Always provides exactly what I need for less than calories.
The biggest reason I buy them is the organic whole ingredients and the fact that they are vegan. As a vegan with an active lifestyle it can be hard to find healthy snacks with protein and carbs. These fit my life perfectly.
Best snack ever We usually buy these at the health food store. I'm so glad I finally decided to check Amazon and buy them there. Same great thing for a cheaper price.
I love these bars. They are great if you're hungry and need a quick pick me up. Or just for a snack. I love the energy these bars pack for a reasonable calorie count and the nutty pecan and spice flavors make these more like a special treat than an energy bar.
Each bar has 9 grams of protein, 8 grams of fat 1. Unfortunately for those of us who are carb-conscious each bar has 41 grams of carbs including a whopping 21 grams of various sugars. The relatively high carb and sugar content is the only drawback to these bars, though be advised that they are a limited edition holiday flavor so buy them while you can. Of course Mikey likes just about anything with several exceptions e. As Individual tastes vary greatly, food reviews should be considered with a lot of skepticism.
As to several reviews claiming the bars are "too sweet," I disagree. They're neither too sweet nor too bland. If you like several of the other Cliff Bar flavors, chances are you'll like the Banana Nut Bread bar.
Will buy again, only very occasionally. Local Banana Nut Muffins satisfy my cravings - more gooder. This particular flavor wasn't a hit with us, but not everyone has the same taste, so I'm not knocking it just because it wasn't our favorite.
This 3 star rating is more about the packaging than the flavor. The box arrived crushed, so a good portion of the bars were popped open and stale. The inner box was damaged, not the shipping box. Other things in the box were just fine, but this one was clearly crushed under or between something much bigger before it was shipped. Disappointing, especially when these are so expensive! They might actually be Perfect! With a name like Perfect Bar you have to be a bit skeptical of the product.
I have to say that I was not disappointed. This is a refrigerated whole food product. It is refrigerated to keep it fresh and extend the shelf life. There are no preservatives, artificial ingredients or anything else to keep these shelf stable for an extended period of time. They are fine to be kept at room temperature before eating but it is not recommended to store them at room temperature. I prefer them warm- see details below. So what is in these? Organic everything, well nearly everything.
Sooo good I first sampled the Perfect Bar at my local Costco. They come in a box of 3 flavors, I still find that the box at Costco is still the best value one though you don't get to choose the flavor only Peanut Butter, Almond Butter, and Cranberry Crunch. Not so crazy about their Coconut flavors but I don't generally care for the taste of coconut anyway. My favorite so far: Their plain Peanut Butter is also very good, you can definitely taste the honey in that one. The best bar out there!
These are by far our favorite bars to buy- no matter what store we go to! They taste amazing, are so healthy for you, and are made with quality products. Our 1 year old loves them also! We have gotten many friends and family hooked as well! You can taste the difference from the first bite compared to other "nutritious" bars. They taste delicious, and sometimes that's hard to say when eating something so good for you. We keep them cold, but you don't have to.
They came packaged so nicely- you can tell that time and consideration was put into their shipping. It is so awesome to be able to buy these from Amazon. Whenever we run low I just have them shipped right to me! This company has an amazing story and we will forever remain a customer. Excellent bars - best of bars I you haven't tried Skratch bars you will love this product.
The ingredients are excellent, and none of their products cause bloating or stomach cramps like many other products. The bars have fueled short and long rides and not only during mountain biking but also when going hiking or similar sport. The bars have a natural and excellent taste. I enjoyed the ginger ingredient in the bars, the pistachios and chocolate are also very tasteful.
I will definitely continue buying Skratch Labs products. The gels are amazing too, the powder mix are the best and overall I have no issues during or after my rides. I have used Skratch products for over 2 years when I found them by accident and I have narrowed my products to Skratch Labs. Try the product, you will like it. I would highly recommend this flavor. Thank you Skratch for making an allergy friendly energy bar that tastes good!
Not my favorite or even close I understand these type of nutrition bars are not every going to be the best tasting things you can eat, but for some reason these do not work with my taste buds at all! I would rather not even take them in my pack. I prefer most other products I have tried other than these. This drink also tastes the way that fine leather smells.
I'm sorry, but every sip I take reminds me of walking past Coach or Wilson's Leather when I worked at the outlet mall. Between the mint and the honey and the green tea and whatever is in there which isn't much, I'm exaggerating it really tastes like a nice new belt. I know this isn't what you want to hear. Let me try to get out of this funk for a second. It's really "mojito-esque" and the spearmint is very strong, but the bitterness is there. It's a very complex drink because you really can taste all the flavors at once and you have to roll the drink around to get it all.
All the flavors are "there" but together Would I drink it again? Probably not just because I'll never be able to get this thought of filtering an otherwise great drink through a pair of fine, Italian loafers, but I hope that it doesn't discourage you from picking some up for yourself.
Ahhh, big city boy like you coming down to the South, eh? Well we've got a thing or two to teach you about how we do things 'round here. For starters, we only wear overalls. For the women-folk, they wear sundresses. That's the way 'tis and that's the way it's gonna be, now and forever.
Number two is that we make our pies with lard, the way that mama made 'em. None of that fancy, low calorie margarine like you city slickers have up there.
If y'ain't got lard, butter. Ol' fashioned butter'll make everything go down smoother. Get used to it. Fourth is that we make our sweet tea with two things; tea and sugar. That's it and that's all, now and f'ever. What's that you got there, boy?
That better be a bottle that used to have paint or some sort of gas-o-line in it or I ain't tasting' it. Alright, give her here, I'll take a swig. Swill is what it is.
It's downright syrupy, if you ask me. City boy, number five is respect your elders so don't you forget it. Real Southern sweet tea is smooth and sweet. This is smooth and sweet and syrupy. Do you remember me saying that real Southern sweet tea is s'posed to be syrupy? Boy, you've got some learnin' to do before you make it down here.
It's not all swamps and gators and biscuits and gravy. What'd you say, darlin'? I've got to go, boy. M'wife made gator stew with biscuits and gravy.
He goes on more little trips than anyone I know. Dude will just up and leave and I'll call him and he'll say "Oh, I'd love to get tacos but I'm in Nebraska" or "I'd love to get pizza but I'm in Albuquerque". One thing that Dan excels at is thinking of Thirsty Dudes and always bringing us stuff back. Well on this occasion, he brought us stuff back from a store that is two miles away that carries this drink that I've never seen, Jay's never seen, and Derek's never seen.
That's strange as we typically scour stores we've been to hundreds of times. You know, just in case. So he brought us back every flavor they had and I paid him in a burrito.
He wanted me to wait for him to try this, but since he's not here, I'm thirsty, and this guy was cold, I had to go in without him. He would and should be upset.
It's got all the inherent bitterness you would expect from a white tea but a killer, natural strawberry flavor through and through. It contains "strawberry flavoring" which is a bit ominous but it also contains Poteet strawberry puree although there isn't any seeds or strawberry remnants. Poteet is a city in Texas known for its strawberry festival, and dude, if this is what they come up with, I might have to schedule a trip. This tea is wonderful.
It's strong, sweet, and it tastes as natural as it says it is. Texas is known for being big, not liars. That stuff was cheap gas station swill that was passable only because it was so cheap.
This on the other hand is a high quality organic tea. This one is also actually made in Texas instead of New Jersey. You can tell from the taste that actual blueberries were used in the creation of it. The sweetness of it is also very obviously pure cane sugar. I can imagine myself slowly sipping on a bottle while I sit on a back porch of a century house somewhere in the backwoods of the south. The bottle was also informative as I learned that Nacogdoches is the oldest town in Texas and it also has the highest production of blueberries out of anywhere in the U.
Who would have thought that? I never expect much to be in Texas.
